Ardmore is to deliver the second and final phase of a life science campus in King’s Cross, north London.
The contractor was appointed by Reef Group, the developer of the 1 million square foot Tribeca campus that includes laboratories, housing, shops and restaurants plus public realm areas.
Phase one of the Tribeca scheme in the King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter saw VolkerFitzpatrick complete the 112,500 square foot Apex building for £29m last year.
Ardmore director James Byrne said the firm had already worked with Reef for 12 months under a preconstruction services agreement “to ensure the scheme remained deliverable and viable”.
Construction News understands that the phase-two deal is worth £236m. It includes the construction of three new buildings called The Reflector, The Assembly and The Connector, comprising a combined 537,066 square feet.
The Reflector building (195,835 square feet) is scheduled for completion in July next year, according to Reef Group. It will comprise 10 floors including a basement.
The Connector (eight floors and 67,083 square feet) and The Assembly (12 floors and 274,148 square feet) will follow in December 2025.
Ardmore’s contract also includes the construction of a 12-floor residential building with 69 flats adjacent to The Connector.
Reef said that all the buildings will be delivered in line with the principles of the London Energy Transformation Initiative. They will also achieve BREEAM Excellent and a Wired Score Platinum Rating, the developer added.
Consultant Gardiner & Theobald will support Ardmore with project management and cost advice.
