Burnley’s last match, it brings me no little pleasure to write as a Crystal Palace fan, was a 2-0 defeat against the south London side at Turf Moor last Saturday.
Though Vincent Kompany’s side had more shots, shots on target, possession, passes and corners, they failed to capitalise and a more clinical Palace scored via Jeffrey Schlupp and Tyrick Mitchell after two defensive mistakes to continue to pile woe on Burnley’s season.
Three days earlier, Kompany and Co were well beaten, 3-0, at Goodison Park by Everton in the League Cup.
