The Envu Ornamentals business adds Janna Beckerman, Ph.D. to its Green Solutions Team (GST) to provide technical support for greenhouse and nursery growers across the country. Prior to joining Envu, Beckerman served as a professor and extension specialist at Purdue University for 20 years and at the University of Minnesota for four years.

“Janna brings a wealth of knowledge to the Green Solutions Team,” says Zac Reicher, Ph.D., Green Solutions Team Specialist. “Members of GST translate innovative research into practical, real-world solutions for tough ornamental and turfgrass pests and stress — while looking for new ways to manage the challenges the industry faces.”

Beckerman received her Ph.D. at Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University. She is widely known for her presentations on botany and plant pathology, her nearly 80 refereed publications, and her role as editor-in-chief of the Midwest Fruit Pest Management Guide.

“Envu shows a commitment to excellence in horticulture, which aligns perfectly with my passion for plants and dedication to advancing the field,” says Beckerman. “At Envu, we believe beautiful environments have the power to improve the health of society. So, I am honored to be part of this global team and partner with nursery and greenhouse growers to limit the weeds, insects, and diseases that hinder the growth of their flowers and plants so that we can be a force with nature — shaping a world where humanity and nature both thrive.”
