The trend is younger QBs
NFL starting quarterbacks in Week 1 were younger by average age than any opening-week starters since 1957, and that average included 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers, subsequently injured. The league in recent seasons has watched a long list of veteran quarterbacks retire: Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan and Tom Brady.
