Kevin Durant missed first 2 days of Team USA training camp with calf strain: Sources

LAS VEGAS — Team USA star Kevin Durant missed the first two days of training camp with a calf strain, league sources told The Athletic.

Durant, the Americans’ all-time leading scorer, is with the team in Las Vegas and the injury is not considered serious, but his status for the team’s first exhibition game Wednesday against Canada is in question, the sources said.

Team USA’s first Olympic game is not until July 28 against Serbia in Lille, France. Once a final roster is submitted to Olympic governors later this month, no player on the roster can be replaced.

The Americans are also being cautious with Joel Embiid (knee) and Kawhi Leonard (knee), but both have participated in practice. Jayson Tatum missed the first day of practice for personal reasons but arrived in Las Vegas and joined the team Sunday.
