Lyon have made an offer of around £15million plus add-ons for West Ham United winger Said Benrahma.
The offer has not yet been accepted by West Ham, but Lyon believe Benrahma is keen on a move to the Ligue 1 side.
Lyon owner John Textor has been an admirer of the 28-year-old since his time at Brentford.
He has played just 615 minutes in the Premier League for West Ham this season, starting only six matches and providing zero goals and one assist in all competitions in 2023-24.
Benrahma was sent off in his most recent appearance for the club, a 1-0 loss to Bristol City in an FA Cup third-round replay.
“It made it much more difficult, that’s for sure,” said manager David Moyes of Benrahma’s dismissal. “It made it much harder and we were a goal down already at that point. I’ve had a look at it and I don’t think we can have any complaints. I wasn’t sure about the tackle on him… that might have been questionable.”
The Algeria international joined West Ham from Brentford on a permanent deal in 2021. His West Ham contract expires in 2026.
Lyon sit 16th in Ligue 1 following a disappointing campaign and are one point clear of the relegation zone, currently occupying the league’s relegation play-off spot.
