Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro available for Manchester United's trip to Everton

Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen will all return to Manchester United’s matchday squad for their Premier League game at Everton but Ruben Amorim’s side remain without several first-team players.

The United head coach revealed last week that his squad had been hit by medical issues during sessions at Carrington with the substitute’s bench for Sunday’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur comprised predominantly of teenagers who had yet to make their senior debuts for the club.

Kobbie Mainoo, Amad and Toby Collyer all sustained injuries ahead of that game, joining long-term absentees Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans and Mason Mount on the sidelines.

“We did not lose players, but we have recovered some,” Amorim said on Friday ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, referencing the return of centre-back Yoro and midfield pair Ugarte and Eriksen.

“With Chris (Eriksen) it was a misunderstanding (over his heart issue); he is healthy, he is ready to play for many years at a high level.”

Amorim added of the club’s fixture-free midweek: “I felt that the week is very good. I see some things in training and sometimes it is hard to pass that to the game but tomorrow is another opportunity to show a better performance.”

The Portuguese added that Amad will be unavailable for a “long time” with Collyer “closest to a return, but not now”, while Mainoo and Mount were among the players continuing their recoveries.

United come into the weekend 15th in the standings having won just two of their last nine Premier League matches.
