Neymar has been included in the Brazil national team squad for their upcoming March fixtures.
It is the first time that the 33-year-old has been called up to represent his country since he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus in his left knee during Brazil’s 2-0 loss against Uruguay in October 2023.
He will be available for his side’s World Cup qualifiers against Colombia on March 21 and Argentina on March 26.
After leaving Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal earlier this year, Neymar rejoined former club Santos on a six-month deal in January.
He has scored three goals and provided three assists in seven games for the Brazilian side, also being handed the captain’s armband in six of those games.
The Athletic reported that Neymar’s potential return to Barcelona is being explored, with discussions taking place between the Spanish side and the player’s camp.
Neymar, Brazil’s record goalscorer, made his senior debut in 2010 and has scored 79 goals in 110 games for his country.
