The Green Bay Packers placed tackle David Bakhtiari on injured reserve, the team announced Thursday. Here’s what you need to know:
- Bakhtiari played against the Bears in Week 1 but his knee began swelling after.
- He missed the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Falcons and Week 3’s against the Saints.
- He’d already been ruled out of his team’s Thursday Night Football matchup against the Lions.

Bakhtiari tore his left ACL on Dec. 31, 2020, at practice and underwent three knee surgeries in the next year and a half. His knee was so messed up that the ACL wasn’t even a problem anymore, and still isn’t.
Bakhtiari played the final regular season game in 2021 before another knee flare-up, then missed time on multiple occasions in 2022 because his knee was still a recurring problem.
