Katie Ledecky will attempt to win her ninth Olympic gold medal on the penultimate night of swimming action at Paris 2024 today.
A win for Ledecky in the 800-meter freestyle will break the record for most gold medals by a female swimmer and tie her for the most by a female Olympian. It would also be the fourth medal of the 2024 Games for Ledecky, who plans to return in four years in Los Angeles.
The final of the men’s 100m butterfly begins the evening session in Paris, while there are also finals in the women’s 200m individual medley and mixed 4x100m medley.
The action gets underway at 8.30pm local time (2.30pm EDT), with Ledecky in action at 9.08pm (3.08pm).
