Women’s FA Cup semi-finals: Manchester United host Chelsea, Tottenham play Leicester


Manchester United will play Chelsea in the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals in a repeat of last year’s final.

Tottenham Hotspur host fellow FA Cup semi-final debutants Leicester City in the draw’s other tie.

Manchester United made the showpiece event for the first time last year and were comfortable 4-0 winners over Brighton in the quarter-finals.

Chelsea are vying to win the competition for a fourth consecutive season after Sam Kerr’s goal secured a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in last season’s final.

They beat Everton 1-0 in the quarter-finals thanks to Catarina Macario’s second goal in as many games following her comeback from a 20-month injury lay-off. Emma Hayes’ side have won the competition on five occasions.

Tottenham reached the semi-finals for the first time with a penalty shootout victory over Manchester City, having forced extra-time thanks to Bethany England’s 96th-minute equaliser.

Leicester secured their last-four place with to a 2-0 win over Liverpool courtesy of two goals from Jutta Rantala.

The Women’s FA Cup semi-finals take place across the weekend of April 13 and 14.

The Women’s FA Cup final takes place on  Sunday May 12 at Wembley Stadium.

Women’s FA Cup final tickets

General sale tickets for the Women’s FA Cup final have already sold out. A percentage of tickets allocated to the two finalists will go on sale on April 15 following the semi-finals.

Both finalists will have an allocation of 12,000 tickets — a 50 per cent increase on last year’s allocation.
